The North Little Rock East Campus Key Club is hard at work in its largest annual service project: fighting hunger in Little Rock. The Key Clubbers spend each Monday making sandwiches for the homeless, while also gathering food for the Amboy Community Food Pantry, and helping their local Kiwanis Club assemble and distribute Thanksgiving care baskets.
Over the course of the school year the club has made 900 sandwiches, raised 173 cans of food for the Amboy Community Food Pantry and distributed 250 Thanksgiving baskets to those who needed them in their community!
The Key Clubbers make the sandwiches after regular club meetings. They volunteer to donate bread and sell teacher lunches to pay for peanut butter and jelly. The club enlisted the generous help of their classmates to donate canned food for the food pantry.
The entire club contributed to the cause. Members even took time out of their Thanksgiving break to help their local Kiwanis Club to donate care baskets.
