Around the world, more than 5,000 Key Clubs engage high school students in leadership development and service projects that, in turn, benefit the local and global communities. Established in 1925, Key Club is the oldest and largest service organization for teens in the world.
Key Clubs are student-led, and members have the opportunity to lead at the club, regional, district or international level. With more than 260,000 members worldwide, Key Club’s impact is far-reaching. Additionally, Key Club is a part of the Kiwanis family, an organization with close to 600,000 adult and youth volunteers.
The best part? Starting a Key Club doesn’t cost your school anything. A local Kiwanis club pays to charter the club, and Kiwanis members mentor and advise your Key Clubbers, creating a strong bond with community leaders.
By the numbers
260,000
The number of members currently in Key Club. By doing only one hour of service per week, Key Clubbers collectively could do 13 million service hours annually.
5,000
The number of Key Clubs around the world that engage teenage students with the opportunity to serve their schools and communities.
Service = success
The more students participate in service learning, the more committed they’ll be to attending school and getting good grades. Engagement in service helps reduce the achievement gap between economically diverse students.
