Back to school means back to Key Club, and the start of a new school year is the best time to recruit new members since everyone is choosing new activities. Your club needs to replace graduated seniors and find new talent and brainpower to make an even greater impact on your school and community.
Check out the Key Solutions Recruitment Guide for tips. You’ll be on your way to a bigger and better Key Club when you:
Establish goals. Decide, as a club or as a board, how many new members you need and offer incentives to current members to recruit new ones.
Advertise. To reach the entire student body, use Growing Your Club resources like posters, flyers, lunchroom table tents, email, daily announcements, school newsletters and websites, social media, invitations—and especially, personal contact—to get the Key Club word out. You can even order postcards from the Key Club store.
Get organized. Plan an informational membership event, social or formal, with thorough preparation. Involve club officers and members, set a timetable and arrange for facilities, refreshments and transportation well in advance.
Growing your club takes work, determination, creativity and enthusiasm. But once your new members get a Key Club New Member Handbook of their own, they’ll certainly be glad you did!
