Follow standards, graphically speaking

Clubs, divisions, and districts should be following Kiwanis International’s Graphic Standards Manual for all communications, including newsletters, brochures, pamphlets, letterhead, and magazines. The manual, developed and distributed worldwide about a year ago, includes basic design rules and implementation standards for logo usage and color, typeface specifics, photo use, and other applications.

“The best brands in the world,” notes Kiwanis International CEO/Executive Director Rob Parker, “are built on common sense principles that include an unrelenting commitment to creating a consistent message and a consistent visual identity. No one in the Coca Cola, Nike, or Microsoft family would ever consider creating their own logo or color schemes or treatments.

“As a Kiwanis family, we must embrace a common identity that allows us to create millions of ‘impressions’ for the world that are all the same.  Each of us shares a responsibility to make this happen.”
