Key Club is 100 years old — and we celebrated our centennial in style during the 2025 Key Club International Convention! Members came together in Orlando, Florida, U.S., to make new friends, get inspired, serve others and jumpstart the next century of Key Club. Here are a few of the highlights that made it a great experience:
Special alumni appearances: The convention kicked off with an address from one of our most illustrious alumni: former U.S. Sen. Bill Nelson, who also served as the NASA administrator from 2021-25. Nelson, the 1959-60 Key Club International president, was joined by 22 other former Key Club presidents who shared messages in person or on video during a historic gavel-pass ceremony. Key Club alumni also took part in a panel discussion and workshops.
Inspirational speakers: During the opening session, actress Aria Mia Loberti, star of the Netflix adaption of “All the Light We Cannot See,” talked with 2024-25 Vice President Carissa Andorff about her work as a UNICEF ambassador, and Navy Vice Admiral Dave Barnes spoke about the importance of service. Our closing session keynote speaker — and Key Club alum — Vera Jo Bustos, known as “Coach VJ,” dared us to keep trying and keep serving!
Recognizing our great work: Key Club officers and districts were honored for their amazing service during the annual recognition ceremony. Throughout the night, we were also treated to a glimpse of members’ artistic talents!
Hands-on service project: We put together birthday party kits — cake mix, candles, decorations and all — for families supported by Healthy Families Florida. We also heard from Derrick Furlow Jr. of X Hunger, who talked to us about food insecurity. A big congrats to Izzy Maly (a trustee from the Capital District), who earned a scholarship for her work helping local families!
Election of new trustees: Delegates elected Isabella Baldisseri as president and Luna Alaowad as vice president for 2025-26. Newly elected trustees are Maya Aminova, Harshini Asokumar, Salsabeel Eldeeb, Oshane Hall, Nicholas Kwok, McCarty Liang, Izzy Maly, Tyler Moran, Nevaeh Moritz, Grace Nelson and Elisa Williams.
Friendship, fun and memories: From pin trading and late-night dancing to exploring Orlando and playing games, ICON 2025 was nonstop fun. Members shared laughs, stories and moments they’ll never forget.
