Schoolhouse.world is a free peer-tutoring nonprofit started by Sal Khan, the creator of Khan Academy. And this is the perfect time to jump into what it has to offer.
The Tutor-a-Thon, Key Club International’s tutoring challenge, runs February 1-April 30. Throughout the competition, you can tutor to earn volunteer hours, help your district rise on the leaderboard and work toward earning recognition at the 2026 Key Club International Convention — all while building college-ready credentials along the way.
As a tutor, you’ll host virtual tutoring sessions, support students from around the world, and gain training and certifications. You’ll also build a tutoring portfolio recognized by dozens of colleges. Did you score a 700 or higher on SAT Math or SAT Reading and Writing? You’ll qualify to tutor Schoolhouse’s SAT Bootcamps. No additional certifications are required.

The Key Club district with the highest percentage of active Schoolhouse tutors earns priority seating at the 2026 Key Club International Convention in Dallas, Texas, U.S.
Club awards
First-place award: The club with the highest percentage of active tutors (to be recognized at the 2026 Key Club International Convention).
Gold level: Clubs with 10 or more certified active tutors.
Silver level: Clubs with 5-9 certified active tutors.
Individual awards
The tutor with the most tutoring hours receives an award at the 2026 convention.
Platinum: 50 hours or more
Gold: 30-49 hours
Silver: 15-29 hours
All awards include digital certificates you can upload to LinkedIn and a template to showcase your achievement on the Common App and your résumé.
