September 6–12 is Suicide Prevention Week
These materials contain information and discussions of mental illness and mental health crisis, suicide and death and dying, which some readers may find triggering. If you need support at any time, please call the National Suicide Prevention Hotline at 1-800-273-TALK.
Suicide is the second–leading cause of death for young people. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recently reported one in four young adults say they’ve considered suicide in the past month because of the pandemic.
Creating a supportive environment is vital in suicide prevention. This month, join Key Club in changing the conversation about mental health by participating in Suicide Prevention Week. From September 6–12, we will be posting challenges and information regarding mental health and suicide prevention.
Join us by participating in activities all week long and spreading the word about the importance of mental health. Learn more about suicide prevention month here.
