Global Leadership Certificate Program

Will this program be held online (for example: Zoom or Google Meet)? 

GLC pilot project courses can be accessed through Kiwanis Connect (Kiwanis.org/login) at any time. The courses are self-paced. Students will need a web browser. 

How often will this program be held (for example: once a week)? 

The three GLC pilot courses will be offered through summer 2021. GLC course 1 and 2 have been released through Kiwanis Connect (Kiwanis.org/login). Course 3 will be released in April 2021. In fall 2021, an additional 39 courses will be offered.  

How long will each session of this program run? 

Course length varies, but most should take about an hour to complete 

Will participants receive community service hours from this program? 

At this time, no community service hours are given.  

Approximately how many hours per week are students expected to spend on the course? 

Courses are self-paced. Students can log iand log out of the Kiwanis Connect education portal at their convenience. 

Is there a cost to participate? 

Grants from the Kiwanis Children’s Fund, Tomorrow Fund and Youth Opportunity Fund were awarded to initiate the program. There is no cost for active Key Club International students enrolled in the program.  

Do we get a certificate at the end of this course? 

Yes, you may print a certificate after you have completed each course. You will also receive a certificate after completing the entire catalog of courses.  

What work is required for completion? 

Each course has a short video and slides to review.  

Would I be permitted to cease taking the course? 

Certification requires all courses to be completed over a year. There is no penalty for not completing all courses.  

I would like to share and promote this project with our Key Club International group, but our club is not listed as an option when I select our state. Is it possible to get that corrected?
