Past Key Club International leadership experience

Club bulletin editor, lieutenant governor

Why did you decide to run for the international board?

I was so inspired by some of the leaders that had come before me — specifically in the way one international trustee used their genuine connections with others to foster a greater impact. I’ve always considered myself extroverted and would definitely say I have a passion for people, so when I saw that I could form deep friendships with people who were similarly motivated to be positive change-makers in their districts, I jumped at the idea. Additionally, I wanted to use my voice to shed light on the issues that matter to myself and my districts.

What are you most looking forward to this year?

Celebrating Key Club’s 100th birthday!

What do you like most about Key Club International?

I love that so many different people from diverse backgrounds and interests can come together to serve others and form genuine connections. I think the way Key Club International prioritizes inclusion as a pillar truly shows in the way our membership represents such different walks of life, and it is truly one of our biggest strengths as an organization.

What is your favorite Key Club memory and why?

My favorite Key Club memory was definitely my first international convention in Anaheim. I got to branch out and meet so many people who would become some of my closest friends today. I truly got to see how immense this organization and its impact globally really is! Aspen stands in front of an empty auditorium looking off stage at the camera

Why did you join Key Club?

Initially, I joined Key Club because I was inspired by my friend Abhik, who was club president at the time and had encouraged me to “just come out to a meeting.” Nonetheless, I continued with the organization because I found that I loved getting to make a tangible positive impact on those in my community, especially when I got to do so with my friends. As I progressed up the leadership ladder, my love for serving others and the relationships I began to form with leaders from around the world through this organization continued to flourish.
