What are your hobbies outside of Key Club?
I lobby and create events for 350 Colorado’s Youth Action Committee and have supported education legislation throughout Colorado for gifted and talented students. I work at a gym, love the library and crotchet on the constant.
Why did you join Key Club? To give back what I felt I owed to my community. They served my family when I was young, and I wanted to return the favor. It taught me service is not owed however, and that instead it was something a lot more.
Why did you run for the international board?
There is so much I want to provide for those who have supported my journey. I am so excited to help and create an impact with these influential people from my generation.
What is your Key Club leadership experience?
I have served as a club class rep, a divisional lieutenant governor and a Rocky Mountain District governor.
What is your career ambition?
I want to study economics and cybersecurity and go into the cross-section of those fields in the legal world.
What do you like most about Key Club?
The community! Without a doubt, no other place has given me so many opportunities that can feel random, so many friends I would never have expected and so much character growth. Everyone I met has changed how I see the world.
What are you most looking forward to this year?
All of the new engagement to the whole Key Club organization. It is so exciting to see people get engaged in their rallies and conventions and get more than they expected from those opportunities.
What is your favorite Key Club memory and why?
My favorite Key Club memory was my first Key Leader experience in my freshman year. One of my friend’s birthdays was that weekend, and even though we were with a group of about 50 random people, one of the adults brought cupcakes and everyone sang “Happy Birthday.” Someone played a piano song for everyone, and it was just a great time.
What is your favorite animal?
Any cats at all
What is a place you would like to visit in the future?
I would love to visit Laos!
What did you want to be when you grew up?
I used to want to be a cowgirl.
What is your favorite food or snack? Mac ‘n’ cheese
Do you collect anything?
Books! I have over 1,000 from library sales, thrift stores, garage sales and every local bookstore I find.
What is the best advice ever given to you?
The worst someone can tell you is no — but if you don’t ask, the answer is always a no.
