Why did you join Key Club?
A few weeks into my freshman year, my school introduced a club fair. While searching for a club, Key Club was the most spontaneous group I had ever encountered. Once I turned around to face the table, the club officers welcomed me with open arms without hesitation and said, “If you join Key Club, I will ring the bell for you.” Now that’s a way to lure me in — who could pass up the opportunity to ring the bell? I told them I would join, and the bell rang. It wasn’t the incentive of ringing the bell that lured me into Key Club, but instead the strong, inclusive community that was meant for all members.
Why did you run for the international board?
I enjoyed being a lieutenant governor for the mighty Michigan District, and I would never trade anything for it. After getting to know Key Club International on a deeper level through my district governor at the time, and hearing about the ways that trustees interact with many other districts, it drew me in. I realized that an international trustee had similar responsibilities to a lieutenant governor, and it felt right to run for the position. Giving a hand to my community was amazing but lending a helping hand to every Key Club member as an international trustee would be incredible. This motivated me to take the chance to run.
What are you most looking forward to this year?
Building more connections with my district pairing and supporting my district governors throughout the year (#floribraskada). Being able to connect my districts as a helping hand is what I am most looking forward to.
Past Key Club International leadership experience.

What is your favorite Key Club memory and why?
It would definitely be my first Kiwanis-sponsored club event. Kiwanians and Key Club members from different schools came together to package food for impoverished communities. It allowed me to meet so many members from other Key Clubs and helped me grow out of my comfort zone into talking to other students at my school.
