Key Club questions

Why did you join Key Club?

To do service with my friends at the beginning of high school. I didn’t know much about the club when I first joined, but I was quickly drawn to the amazing people and service opportunities. I knew quickly that this was going to be a club that would become a big part of my life, and it has been truly life changing.

Why did you decide to run for the Key Club international board?

Because I wanted to give back to Key Club, as this organization has changed me for the better and shaped me to become the leader I am today. I love to organize and manage projects on a larger scale, and I wanted to make an impact beyond the district level. During my term as governor, I learned a lot about international functions and district management; I wanted to bring my knowledge to the next class of governors and assist them in running their districts, which I could do best through being an international trustee. All these different factors naturally came together to tell me that I should run for the international board.

What are you most looking forward to this year?

Working with district governors and meeting Key Club members from all the different districts!

What do you like most about Key Club International?

I love how Key Club focuses on both service and leadership because it truly empowers the students to become better leaders and gain lifelong skills. Also, the shared passion among all the Key Club members makes every single interaction fun and unique.

What is your favorite Key Club memory, and why?

Going to my first Key Club International Convention in Baltimore. This was the first time I saw Key Club outside of my home district, and it opened my eyes to how Key Club operated Internationally. I met people from all over and made so many new friends. I never knew that there were so many people beyond my district that were so passionate about Key Club like I was, and I gained many new perspectives on our organization. It was a world of Key Club that I never knew existed; from that moment on, I became even more eager to serve my community and the organization.
