As the season of college decisions approaches, a slew of emotions come with it ― from joy to disappointment. No matter the outcome, it’s important to keep your self-worth separate from the results themselves.

Much of the college application process is out of our control, especially now. From recommendation letters and interviews to the admissions officers that determine our fate, we, as applicants, don’t have much of a direct say in the process.

You’ve worked hard on both extracurriculars and your studies, curated your essays to best reflect your personality and experiences and navigated self-growth over the past four years. Your journey as a student leader, including your experiences from Key Club, proves that you are defined by so much more than a decision from a school. Ultimately, whether you go to a four-year university, community college, trade school or whatever adventure awaits you next, trust that you will end up exactly where you’re supposed to be.

Your Key Club community knows that you are an amazing, smart and incredible person and student leader, and we all wish you the best of luck!

If you’re looking for a way to explore the next step of your volunteer and leadership journey, save the date for Key Club Senior Night, hosted by Circle K International at 8 p.m. EDT/4 p.m. PDT on April 11. Details for Key Club Senior Night will be announced via social media in the coming weeks.

I can’t wait to see where you end up. Regardless of where you go or how you proceed, I know that you’ll do amazing things!
