The Wawasee High School Key Club in Indiana combined efforts to help the environment and mental health through its Earth Day: Trees and Hope service project. With the help of a Youth Opportunities Fund grant and the Wawasee Area Conservancy Foundation, club members planted indigenous redbud trees and flower bulbs to make their school campus green and symbolize hope for the future. The project helped the club foster better community relationships while its members enjoyed the therapeutic effects of being outdoors and gardening.
