Learn how the district reached its highest-ever member count 

Hey, Key Club International! My name is Issa Allison, and I serve as the 2024-25 Florida District treasurer. My time on the district board has been amazing, and I’m loving every moment of it. I’d like to share what’s driven this year’s growth in the mighty Florida District to the highest membership on record.  

The Florida District Board is similar to many others in Key Club International, with executive board members and lieutenant governors serving alongside committee chairs. Both at board meetings and through new initiatives, our membership committee continuously pushes for growth throughout the year. For example, our membership chair created a report to complement my Key Club Paid Members Reports by tracking the growth or decline of each club. Such resources greatly help lieutenant governors as they work with clubs in their division to further incentivize growth.  

This journey was by no means a one-person job; it was accomplished with the efforts of every board member. For example: 

• When the challenge of increased member dues was introduced after the 2024 Key Club International Convention, we reached out to Kiwanis clubs in our respective areas to keep them engaged in assisting Key Club members.  
• We hosted webinars for new and existing advisors early in the school year to inform them about the dues process.  
• Working with our financial committee and webmaster, we improved dues resources accessible to members through our district website.  

In my capacity as district treasurer, delinquent dues notifications have been an excellent way to assist clubs across the district. Emailing and attending Zoom calls with advisors and club presidents alleviates confusion about the dues process. As more clubs pay dues, it becomes easier to motivate clubs to host membership drives. Emails to the entire district provide reminders to pay dues and continue growing membership throughout the year. Scholarship incentives from the Florida District and the state’s Kiwanis clubs are a great way to keep seniors engaged.  

Our journey to the highest membership in the Florida District’s history has been amazing — full of challenges, teamwork and motivation. There’s no other district board I would have wanted to complete this with. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out!
