We are thrilled to announce Key Club International’s newest district: Philippine Luzon. The Philippine Luzon District joins us as Key Club’s 33rd district and includes 43 clubs.

The new district is important not just for those clubs and members, but for the whole program, says Key Club International Vice President and Global Relations Committee Chair Layla Nguyen, who is serving as liaison to the area.

“It is important to us to recognize the various perspectives, cultures and ideas that come from all areas of the globe,” Nguyen adds. “Becoming a district within Key Club International means those voices will be heard, but it also means we are embracing open-mindedness and change.”

Now that the clubs in the area are a district, each club can be represented by two delegates during the 2023 House of Delegates at the Key Club International convention in Anaheim, California, U.S. For example, members will vote on next year’s international board and amendments to the bylaws.

In addition to its convention delegates, the district’s Key Club governor will be a member of the International Council and will get to work with an international trustee to maintain open channels of communication and to help the district grow and thrive in the coming service years.

“We cannot wait to start working together to hear the new ideas Philippine Luzon brings,” Nguyen says. “Listening to ideas and opinions allows us to understand the needs and wants in Key Club. Amplifying these voices allows for constant improvement within the organization to welcome everyone.”
